Tessa's 3rd Birthday

This weekend we headed to Ft. Worth for Tessa's 3rd birthday. We stopped at the Sam Houston statue which I had never done before. Shawn wanted to teach Graysen about her Texas heritage.

No Speer road trip is complete without a stop at Shawn's favorite gas station.
It didn't take long for Grant and Shawn to do some redecorating while Lee was outside.

Leila learned to climb the tree the day before and she was very happy to show everyone her new skills.

I love this picture of these two-in deep conversation while sharing some watermelon.
Big Popa giving G a temporary tattoo.
I don't think Addison was happy I gave her away.

A group hug in the trampoline.

Graysen wanted to get a pair of her favorite shoes for Tessa and she loved them.

It was then time to head home. All of her friends watched Frozen in the back with her while I watched the Rockets and the Astros win. I was so grateful for all the driving Shawn did so I could be home since I wasn't feeling well. He enjoyed trying to make it home in 3 1/2 hours.

First Soccer Practice

We weren't going to start soccer until Graysen was 4, but we had the opportunity to join the first class at our friends new indoor soccer building. I wasn't feeling well so Shawn took her and sent me lots of pictures and videos. This was the 2nd or 3rd time she had ever played with a soccer ball so we were really impressed. Uncle Chris thinks she can join the Travis Homes soccer team they are talking about starting.

One of Graysen's church friends is in the class and they were just cute together.

Strawberry Picking

I wanted to take her to pick strawberries last year but never got the chance. This year we went on the first weekday that was slow and had nice weather. We had a fun time with just the two of us.

Eating an apple after picking strawberries.

Our friends saw our pictures on instagram and asked us to go the following week after dance.

We have been realizing how affectionate we are in our house lately by watching G. She is always holding hands or hugging someone.

We finished the day with a quiet (not at all) lunch at chick-fil-a. We had our very FIRST public accident. After a year  (a YEAR!!!!) of being potty trained she decided to pee on the floor of the playground which caused it to get shut down. Well done Graysen, well done.

She wasn't embarrassed at all.

A Spring Weekend

A weekend with no plans-what were we to do?

Swim with our main man.
Get all the noodles out for the first time this year.
Dance the first of many dances that weekend.

 Eat Menchie's until...
 we got a cold headache.
Soak in the sun while flying a kite.

Catch up on reading and take a few naps.
 Swim some more.

Clean the patio furniture (Shawn actually thought this was fun)
Make ribs on the primo for the first time.
 Enjoy a few meals outside.
And end the weekend with an evening golf cart ride.
